Diane's Cozy Cottage

"Diane's Cozy Cottage" is located just three doors down the street - one block from St. George Street. It is a real gem in the Historic District of the "Oldest City." It's a beautifully restored cottage that was originally built about 1885. There are two very intimate and wonderfully furnished guestrooms, each with their own bathroom. Then, there is a magnificent living room/dining room area that is a common room. The focal point of this grand room is the corner fireplace with the handcrafted bricks and the twisted chimney.

The electric logs radiate the feeling of warmth, love and affection. The living area is well appointed and extremely comfortable, with a sleeper/sofa, wing back chair, old wooden rocker and coffee table. An antique armoire houses a large TV and VCR. The old oak dining table and chairs make an ideal location for snacks, card playing or perhaps just a casual conversation. The "Cottage" also has a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and a microwave. It makes an easy preparation center for evening "nibbles.". For convenience, the refrigerator is filled with beverages. Imagine - the comforts of home, away from home.

Reserve one of the guestrooms for your romantic retreat and enjoy the seclusion of the Cottage. Or, bring your family or friends and reserve the entire cottage. It makes a quiet "hideaway" for two couples or a perfect place for a family reunion. When you reserve the entire cottage, we allow younger children. Please call us for details. The entire cottage will sleep six people comfortably. Naturally, it is air conditioned and has a telephone for outgoing calls and free parking.

With its casual atmosphere and the versatility of accommodations, it also makes an ideal location for small business meetings. Imagine getting away from the conventional board meeting room to a serene atmosphere to promote creative thinking or closing the sale.

The two guest rooms are very special:

Ashton's Room
This is a spacious queen size room that has a really open feeling. The queen size four poster oak bed compliments the cream and rose hues of the room. A desk from the Johnson family home, a casual chair and a practical dresser complete the room. French doors lead you to a small, private covered porch and small garden yard. The Victorian bathroom has a wonderful claw foot antique soaking tub with a shower.
Romance is in the air of this fabulous room.
Monday - Thursday $169.00, Friday - Saturday - Sunday $219.00

Miranda's Room
This is the height of luxuriance. The huge, iron king size bed is almost dwarfed by the size of the room. A wicker table and two chairs form an intimate arrangement for a sip of wine. A large English imported wardrobe and antique dresser are fitting for the room. But, then there is the whirlpool tub in the carefully crafted portion of this room. Imagine turning the lights down low, sipping a glass of wine in your Carriage Way robes and preparing for the relaxing, two person whirlpool. Romance is back! The Victorian bathroom has a wonderful antique claw foot tub with a shower. This is all you could wish for and more.
Monday - Thursday $199.00, Friday - Saturday - Sunday $269.00

The rooms are named for former owners and individuals who were significant to the history of the home. For many years, the home was very prominent in the city of St Augustine. Then, in the 1940s, the house was converted into apartments. In 1984, the structure was lovingly and extensively restored to its original grandeur, fulfilling a dream of creating Carriage Way.
