Carriage Way; A Quaint Historic Victorian St. Augustine Bed and Breakfast

Carriage Way is a traditional, Victorian style building constructed between 1883 and 1885 by Edward and Rosalie Masters for their family. The rooms are named for former owners and individuals who were significant to the history of the home. For many years, the home was very prominent in the city of St Augustine. Then, in the 1940s, the house was converted into apartments. In 1984, this romantic structure was lovingly and extensively restored to its original grandeur, fulfilling a dream of creating what is now a premier St. Augustine, Florida bed and breakfast.

Accommodations in the heart of Old St. Augustine

Just imagine strolling down the charming, narrow streets of the "Oldest City" in the United States with its old world charm. Then, imagine walking up to this beautiful 126-year-old Victorian home in the heart of the Historic District. The first thing that captures your eye are the soft, warm colors of the home. Then, you see the two verandas. The white wicker chairs and a porch swing call out to you to sit, relax, and reflect on your day! As you enter the front door, the friendly and hospitable atmosphere is evident and the smell of freshly-baked breads overtakes you.  You feel the warmth, as if it were to say, "Welcome Home."

You are standing in the very center of history. Carriage Way is located just steps from old St. George Street, the walking mall street. It is amid unique and charming shops, museums, historic sites, and beautiful views. Flagler College (the original Ponce de Leon Resort Hotel), 17th century European fort Castillo de San Marcos, many fine restaurants, art galleries, carriage tours, and the waterfront are 1 to 4 short blocks away. "White Glove" Award Winner for the past three years.  When traveling to St. Augustine, Carriage Way is the way to stay!

All sites within the Historic District are only a 5 to 10 minute stroll from the inn. We have convenient and complimentary off-street parking on site for all of our guests.

Freshly baked breads, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, tea, wonderful jellies and jams, and delicious hot entrées all await you at breakfast time. Bill strolls over from his home, a block away, to brew the coffee, check the details, and chat with the guests. Breakfast is served from about 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in our beautiful dining room. You also have the option to enjoy your breakfast outdoors on our spacious front porch.
