Carriage Way becomes a Green Lodging property

Published: July 14, 2014

As many of you already know, Carriage Way recently underwent an extraordinary renovation during the month of August. Every room in the main inn was refreshed with new paint, new linens and new decor. Several of the bathrooms were gutted completely and replaced with modern travertine granite stone, as well as rain head showers for added luxury. We removed the carpet from all of the downstairs common areas and restored the original hardwood floors from 1883, and we expanded our tiny parlor into a large great room for a more welcoming feel upon arrival. All of these restorations took roughly a month to accomplish with multiple employees working around the clock.

In addition to the physical restorations we have done to the property, we have also implemented many changes in how our staff operates. The biggest change is that we have made a commitment to "go green." We are proud to say that we are now officially a "Florida Designated Green Lodging Property." After a very long application process, and incorporating dozens of "green" initiatives, our business is now more eco-friendly than ever. These changes will not only help to preserve Carriage Way, but will also help preserve our natural resources for future generations. With guidance, we are commited to providing evnironmental protection through science, sustainability and stewardship. We look forward to hosting all guests into our updated and improved historic bed and breakfast. Contact us today, and let us help you begin planning your next St. Augustine vacation.
