Noche de Gala Procession

Published: October 18, 2014

What better way to celebrate the 496th birthday of Don Pedro Menendez, the founder of Saint Augustine, than a parade of giant colorful paper mache heads or "cabezudos." On February 28th beginning at 5:00pm a procession of cabezudos, which represent Spanish literature characters - keeping alive a tradition which dates back as far as the 12th century, will be marching down the streets of St. Augustine to kick off the annual Noche de Gala.

This once a year event is not to be missed! Book with Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast here while we still have availability.
