Cherokee Lectures and Demonstrations at The Fountain of Youth
On the first and third Saturdays of every month, visit the Saint Augustine Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park (11 Magnolia Avenue) for the Cherokee Lectures and Demonstrations! The Fountain of Youth park is the area first explored by Juan Ponce de Leon in the year 1513. In 1565, Pedro Menendez de Aviles settled Saint Augustine making it the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the United States. When you attend the Cherokee Lectures and Demonstrations, you will be stepping even farther back in time as you listen and learn about how the Southeastern Cherokee nation interacted with the Timucua tribes centuries before the arrival of the Europeans.
The lectures and demonstrations will take place in the Fountain of Youth Living History Village of Seloy from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The Demonstrations are included in the price of admittance which is $15 for adults and $14 for seniors (60+ years). The Fountain of Youth is located just a mile from Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast and has onsite parking. Call us today at (904) 829-2467 to book your weekend stay at Carriage Way and see the historic Fountain of Youth Cherokee Lectures and Demonstrations!
