May 4 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am| $10
The Lightner Museum to Host a Special Curator’s Tour
See the Lightner Museum (75 King Street) Curator’s Tour on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00am. The Lightner Museum is housed inside of the old Alcazar Hotel built by Henry Flagler in 1888. On this special Tour led by Curator Barry Myers, participants will get to experience the eclectic relics and collections of antiques initially brought together by famed collector Mr. Otto Lightner in 1948. Mr. Lightner amassed his collection during the depression when bankrupt ex-millionaires were forced to sell or auction off their private collections for taxes. Included in the displays are typewriters, Tiffany lamps and still working mechanized musical instruments from the late 1800’s.
