Underwater Archaeology Exhibit: Wrecked!

The St Augustine Lighthouse welcomes you to it’s newest underwater archaeology exhibit Wrecked! A new interactive exhibition featuring two stories told by one shipwreck. On New Year’s Eve 1782, a ship carrying civilians and soldiers fleeing from Charleston, SC near the end of the American Revolutionary War wrecked while attempting to seek shelter in St. Augustine. Underwater archaeologists uncovered this shipwreck more than 200 years later in the waters off St. Augustine. Come see cannons, cauldrons, buttons and many other historical artifacts from the wreck. The exhibit tells the story of the doomed voyage and invites guests to learn all about the science of underwater archaeology.

Admission is just $12.95 for adults and $10.95 for seniors. The St Augustine Lighthouse is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Drop on by for St Augustine’s newest historical find! Being in the Nation’s Oldest City, historical finds and underwater archaeology exhibits are just a hairsbreadth away. Carriage Way is just moments from the St Augustine Lighthouse, Book Now to secure your reservation and relax in comfort and peace. Or call us now at 904-829-2467. We look forward to hosting you for this event!
