What Visitors Say
"Thank you very much. It has been very nice staying here. We felt very much cared for and all our extra wishes for breakfast were wonderfully fulfilled! Thanks for all the good suggestions for places to visit as well as restaurants to eat. We had a great time and enjoyed being so close to the center that we could come back for little breaks and enjoy the lovely balcony with the swing, a lot! For Germans, we had the most wonderful weather-considering the fact that our friends have snow and freezing temperatures back home. We enjoyed it a lot! Take care!"
- M. and E., Stuttgart, Germany
"Thank you for everything! You know the true meaning of "Relax" and providing "Hospitality"! See you again!"
- C. and S. (Sisters Getaway) , Brandon, FL
"Well, it's no surprise that everything here at Carriage Way was great! I'm already excited about October!...aren't you?!! My new favorite is Diane's Cake!! I'm going to try to make it, hope it turns out as good as yours! Every time I add a piece to my thighs, I'll think of Diane and how sweet she was when I stopped by the Carriage Way eight years ago to drop off a gift for Honeymooning friends. Little did we know what we were missing by not staying here at that time. It has been a great 4th of July Holiday! We Love you guys!"
- E. and D., Lithia, FL
"It was a pleasure for us to stay in your bed and breakfast. We are travel agents from Germany and we travel a lot all over the world. But this bed and breakfast and your very good support and your friendly advice are incredible. Congratulations, you know how to serve your guests."
- K. and J., Munich, Germany
"We've had a great time as usual. This is our 8th year celebrating our anniversary here, this time our 24th anniversary. Also, a great place for our Christmas get together with our best friends. Larry, the food was very good as usual."
- J. and C., Longwood, FL
"We had a terrific time here. You were incredibly friendly, gracious and accommodating. Without a doubt the best B&B we've stayed at and we've been doing our 'girls getaway' for 12 years now! We'll both definitely be back. The food was great and plentiful, the room immaculate."
- J. and S., Ormond Beach, FL
"This weekend could not have been any better...your superior hospitality, friendliness, and warmth in this amazing Victorian have given us exactly what we were hoping to find. This has now become a 'must do many times again' getaway, and we will go to no other bed and breakfast in town than Carriage Way!"

History of the Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast
The house is a vernacular structure with Victorian features. It was constructed between 1883 and 1885 by Edward and Rosalie Masters. The rooms are named for former owners and individuals significant to the history of the home. The home held a prominent place in St. Augustine for many years before being converted into apartments during the 1940s. In 1984, the home was fully restored, and the stage was set for the Johnson family to fulfill their B&B dreams!.
