Carriage Way Guest Makes Hall of Fame Saint Award!
In the heart of Flagler College in Ponce Hall, student athletes past and present gathered to see the recipients of the Distinguished Saint Award this Thursday. Flagler athletes and their families came from various states in the U.S. as well as, Sweden, England, Ireland and Iceland to show support for their beloved college and great athletes . Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast longtime guest Martin Guntrip was inducted into Flagler College’s Hall of Fame. Guntrip, a former no. 5 tennis player that went on to become a NAIA All American and all before graduating in 1981. Guntrip was discovered by a scout in Texas before he was asked to play on scholarship for Flagler College. Martin and his wife Connor love to come back to St. Augustine whenever they get a chance to escape their busy lives in England and both say St. Augustine will always have a special place in their hearts.
