If you have never experienced the pomp and splendor of a Military Ball, this is your chance. Forward March, Inc. will host the 3rd Annual St Augustine Military Ball at the Mark Lance Armory on Saturday, January 14 beginning at 6:00. Admission is $100 per person. The event is open to the public, and the dress code is Black Tie/Military Dress.
The evening will include a formal dinner, a silent auction and, of course, dancing. The event honors Lt. Col. (Ret) William Dudley, chairman of the St John’s County veteran’s council.
Forward March, Inc, is the non-profit organization spearheading the renovation of the historic Hamblen House. The Military Ball was designed as an annual event to support veterans and active duty personnel. The Hamblen House is the home of the C.F. Hamblen American Legion Post 37. Post-renovation it will also serve as a welcome center for active duty military and a prime location for the community to celebrate events.
After the dance, march your way over to Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast. Stay in the Emerald Room, for example. It is one of our premier rooms, with an exterior entrance and a lavish amount of space. Enjoy the grand king bed from Indonesia. Sit in wing chairs by the electric fireplace and reflect back on your evening. Rest those dancing feet in the air jet tub, or dangle them from the veranda porch swing. It will be a night of pageantry, music, and relaxation.
