In the mood for a Quidditch match? Thirsty for some Butterbeer? Then head to Francis Field on May 13 for the Harry Potter Event.
For this one day only, Francis Field will be magically transformed into AUGSmeade Village – complete with Diagon Alley. If your wand is getting worn out, this is your chance to choose a new one. You can also pick up a spell or two or book a session with the sorting hat.
The Quidditch matches start at 12:30, with a demonstration game played between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Other houses play throughout the afternoon. If you want to try your hand at it, audience participation games take place at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, and 7:00.
Also present? Percy Weasley himself, actor Chris Rankin. Rankin played the stubbornest and most complicated Weasley in the Harry Potter film series. He will participate in interviews and he’ll be available for autographs and photos.
The Harry Potter Event will take place on Saturday, May 13, from noon to 8 PM. Tickets are $5 at the gate.
This event is part of the Romanza Festivale, ten days of performances and activities that celebrate our city. There will be more than 60 events and exhibits in all. It runs from May 5 – May 14 in venues all over town, and the Harry Potter Event is the culmination of the festival.
When you’re weary and triumphant from Quidditch, come on over to Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast. The Garnet room is done in lovely warm golds and reds, and decorated with antiques. You’ll have wine, soda, and sweet treats available all evening and a sumptuous breakfast in the morning.
It will be a magical experience.
