Fun fact: the ocean is full of fish. Delicious, delicious fish. The trick is in catching them. If you’d like to fish smarter, not harder, we’d like to suggest the Saltwater Fishing Workshop at Washington Oaks State Park.
On Thursday, July 6, from 9:00 AM – noon, the Friends of Washington Oaks will hold this hands-on fishing workshop for adults only. Learn about local saltwater fish as well as instruction on how to use the rod and reel. And then that will be you fishing along the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway.
Materials for the workshop – rod and reel, tackle and bait – will be provided. Reservations are required. Please call 386-446-6783, or go to this site. The fee is $20.
And after the workshop is over, you’re probably going to need a shower. When you choose your room on our site, you can choose between rooms with a Victorian bath, a Jacuzzi, or a walk-in shower. If you’re staying in the Emerald room, for example, the shower has dual rainheads and body sprays. Also a king-sized bed from Indonesia, a separate comfortable seating area, and a whirlpool tub for two.
And once you’ve dried off, you’re right in the middle of the Historic District, with all of its shops and restaurants and museums. Fishing, Carriage Way, and downtown St Augustine. Not a bad way to spend a day.
