Amahl and the Night Visitors

You have the reindeer memorized.  You know Clarence is going to get his wings.  How about a new Christmas time tradition? On December 13, you can experience culture and holiday feels as the First Coast Opera presents Amahl and the Night Visitors.

In Amahl and the Night Visitors, a disabled little boy has an encounter with three kings who are, as it happens, on their way to Bethlehem.  It is a story of humor, faith and miracles.  In case the vocals inspire you, this one-act opera will end with a holiday sing-a-long.

Amahl and the Night Visitors will be performed on December 13 at 7:30 PM in Flagler College’s Lewis Auditorium.  First Coast Opera, now in its 18th season, is a nonprofit corporation and Northeast Florida’s only premier opera company.

While you’re feeling merry, you can stroll through the Nights of Lights display on your way back to Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast.  Then you can hang out in the parlor with a cup of hot chocolate and admire our Christmas tree.  Or grab some cookies on the way to your room.  If you’re in the Garnet Room, for example, you’ll have a sweet little electric fireplace for ambiance and warmth.  You and your other half can snuggle up in bed and sip wine and tell each other Christmas stories.  Or, you know, watch TV.  It’s a Wonderful Life will probably be on.
