The St. Augustine Amphitheater has done it again. The Amphitheater announced today that they will be playing host to legendary rock band, The Counting Crows. The Counting Crows have sold over 20 million albums worldwide, and have been nominated for a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe award, and an Academy Award. The band gained international recognition for their 1993 hit “Mr. Jones,” and for their #1 Billboard top hit “Accidentally in love” from the major motion picture, Shrek. The band last performed in St. Augustine in 2009 where they sold out the Amphitheater.
Providing support for the Counting Crows will be California rock band “Toad the wet sprocket.” Toad the wet sprocket got their name before their first gig at a small bar. The 4 musicians had no band name until they were being introduced onto the stage and were forced to come up with a name on the spot. Fast forward 28 years and they are still going strong today. Toad the wet sprocket performed last year at Ponte Vedra concert hall. This lively group will provide an incredibly entertaining introduction.
