St Patrick’s Day in St Augustine is not over!
Happy St Patrick’s Day from Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast! St Augustine, FL just held the popular Celtic Festival over the weekend however, the St Patty’s Day fun is not over! Did you know that St Augustine has three great Irish pub/restaurants all within walking distance from Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast? The first one is an Irish Gastropub located just around the corner from us on Spanish Street called Barley Republic! Barley Republic has indoor and outdoor seating and features live music most nights of the week. Happy hour is from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday through Friday with $4 draft beers and house wines plus $1 Oysters, Cocktail Shrimp and Beer Battered Bangers. Be sure to stop by Barley Republic for your first green beer this St Patrick’s Day!
The second great Irish Pub/Restaurant is Meehan’s located right on the bayfront! Meehan’s is actually three great restaurants in one: Meehan’s Irish Pub, The Backyard Island Cafe and Tropical Bar and Johnny’s Famous Oyster Bar. Meehan’s Pub and Johnny’s Oyster Bar features indoor seating upstairs and downstairs with fantastic waterfront views of the Matanzas Bay. The Backyard Island Cafe and Tropical Bar in located (you guessed it!) in Meehan’s backyard boasting live music to accompany your seafood dinner and tropical drinks. Enjoy traditional Irish music from Mike Sullivan and Dublin Train Wreck beginning at 4:00pm today followed by solo guitar/vocalist Dave Berry at 9:00pm.
The third pub is St Augustine’s Oldest Irish Pub named Ann O’Malley’s located on Orange Street. Stop in for $5 Guinness Beers, $4 Magners bottles, $2 Green Beer Pints and $10 plates of Corned Beef, Cabbage and Potatoes while it lasts! Listen to some local Irish bands and join in on the St Patty’s Day Shenanigans. Don’t forget your kilt!
