Venerable publication U.S. News & World Report recently listed St Augustine as one of the 15 Best Small Towns to Visit in the USA.“The main draw here is the abundance of landmarks that date back to the Spanish occupation,” according to the article, but “the Ancient City also offers various boutiques, eateries, live music venues and art galleries.”
St Augustine was ranked among Sedona, Lake Tahoe, and Monterey for vacation destinations. The Oldest City is “full of history and unspoiled beaches … Alongside narrow cobblestone streets and colonial architecture, you’ll find Romanesque Revival-style buildings.” The travel writers add, “No matter where you go in St. Augustine, odds are you’ll stand face to face with American history.”
The article goes on to advise, “After strolling along St. George Street, head to the shore to relax and wade in the calm ocean waters.”
Just a reminder that Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast can add to your visit. We are, of course, located a block and a half from St George Street. And if you’re going to the beach, let us lend you some beach towels and chairs. We’re always happy to recommend restaurants and shops that might spark your interest in the orientation we give each guest. And naturally, Carriage Way offers charming rooms, friendly staff, and a scrumptious breakfast.
In previous U.S. News and World Report rankings, St Augustine ranked #4 in Best Places to Visit in Florida and #7 in Best Beaches in the USA.
