Fort Mose or El Pueblo de Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, was the first legally sanctioned free black settlement in the USA. On June 26th, 1740 a bloody but historic and pivotal battle took place at Fort Mose. Come relive this monumental date in history and see how the battle may have taken place at the 6th annual reenactment. Admittance is free however, there is a $2.00 museum entry fee.
