Famous for the best beef wellington around (a local St. Augustine favorite). With every great restaurant comes a great story of how it came to be. The Macdonald family set sail aboard their 45foot yacht from England to St. Augustine in March of 1979. The family was tired of over-taxation that they felt repressed their ambitions. So they sold their business, house, cars and furniture and set sail for the U.S.A. The family sailed for 17 days before they finally hit land, Bridgetown Barbados; Next Stop St. Augustine Fl. After finding the beautiful house on 102 San Marco Avenue and ten months of renovations you have The Raintree Restaurant!
