The St. Augustine Easter Parade

The 2016 St. Augustine Easter Parade

The St. Augustine Easter Parade is a must see for many reasons.  Where else can you see Star Wars Storm Troopers and the Easter bunny in a convertible? The answer is the St. Augustine Easter Parade or the Parada De Los Caballos y Coches (Parade of Horses and Carriages) on Easter Sunday.  The royal family will be leading the parade and following will be clowns, pirates, marching bands, horse and carriages to name a few.  The horses will be dawning decorative hats of the highest four legged fashion.  The parade begins at 3:00 pm north of the Mission of Nombre de Dios, goes south on San Marco Ave., all the way along the Bayfront on Avenida Menendez.  The parade will finish at the Plaza de la Constitucion where trophies will be handed out at 4:00 pm.  This year, actress Loretta Swit from the TV show M*A*S*H will be our grand marshal thanks to Old Town Trolley Tours and Ayla’s Acres.

Come watch the St. Augustine Easter Parade from one of our two veranda’s after our chef’s choice hot breakfast. Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine and is one of the most convenient locations in town.  Our guests are met with many great amenities such as onsite parking, wine and beverages all day.  Stay upstairs in our Tourmaline room where you can look upon the beautiful Cordova Street as the parade marches by.  Take a nice warm shower under the rain head in our marble and travertine walk-in bath.  Or perhaps have a glass of wine upstairs in our rocking chair or front porch swing with your favorite book.  No matter what room you chose it is certain to be a gem, which is why Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast is known as the Jewel of the Ancient City.
