Experience the Lightner Museum Curator’s Tour When you are in St. Augustine!

If you are curious about what to see in St. Augustine, be sure to visit the Lightner Museum (75 King Street) for a special behind-the-scenes tour of this historic hotel. On the first Wednesday of every month, Lightner Museum Curator Barry Myers will lead participants on a tour of the old Alcazar Hotel built by Henry Flagler in 1888. Myers will expertly guide guests through the once famous Turkish Sulfur Baths, the one time “World’s Largest Indoor Swimming Pool” and the grand three story ballroom. Housed inside of this old hotel are some of the most unique and eclectic artifacts of the “Gilded Age,” antiques and curios of Mr. Otto Lightner, a wealthy art and hobby collector.

Learn about the Lightner Museum’s most unusual relics and background stories of acquired collections.  Hear the astonishing appraisals of  the Lightner’s antiques and listen to the music of a by-gone era played by the collection of mechanized musical instruments. This special Curator Led Tour takes place on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00am and admission is only $10 per person.
