Recipes and Tips

New Cookbook Request:  We are gaining momentum on recipes, but we need more as we put together the second cookbook that features the best family recipes from our guests here at the Carriage Way.  The cookbook will have one recipe on a page and we would like you to provide a short story that complements the recipe.  Send us only your best and if we print your recipe, we will send you a complimentary copy. Thank you George and Kathy for the recipe for cream cheese pound cake.

Jeanie ran into this recipe for an upgrade to your chocolate brownie recipe and it was a big hit this past week.

Peanut Butter Icing:

1/2 cup butter

1 package of Peanut Butter Chips

1 Can Eagle Brand Condensed milk

Combine all three ingredients in a sauce pan and heat ingredients until well mixed, stirring frequently.  Spread on to a 9 x 13 inch pan of brownies and cool.

Cleaning tip:  If you need to clean your kitchen countertops and you are out of Bleach, use Hydrogen Peroxide.  It is effective in killing Salmonella and other Bacteria

Inn the Know:

This week we were notified that the Carriage Way had received the 2011 Superior Small Lodging "White Glove Award" for housekeeping.  This makes 4 years in a row!
