From the moment we stepped inside this wonderful B&B, we already wanted to stay longer! We were immediately greeted by one of the Innkeepers, MichaelE. We were offered a lemongrass infused cool towel to freshen up with, and a nice cold drink. She sat down with us in the sitting area to go over all the ins and outs. Never being to St. Augustine before, we were a bit clueless. She asked us what we were interested in doing while there and took the time to show where they were located on the map and arranged for any tickets needed for them as well. Soda, wine, water, coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day, and in the afternoons you’ll love the stocked cookie jar! They also had a lovely scented candle burning which was their own scent that smelled divine. We were able to purchase one and is in fact burning as I write this! We were helped up to our room on the second floor by her husband and fellow Innkeeper, Julio. Our room, The Garnet Room, was just beautiful. Plenty spacious with a beautiful bath, incredibly soft sheets and it even had a decanter filled with cream sherry for our enjoyment. Our room had a tv with a very large selection of channels (which is very unusual), its own air conditioner with remote, and all the bath products you would need, which smelled delightful! There was even a nice veranda just steps from our room. In the mornings they set out a coffee service in the upstairs hall for the early risers. Such a great touch. Breakfast was served from 8:30 – 10:00 in a very elegantly appointed dining area. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious! One morning was a crustless quiche with a roasted red pepper sauce, sausage links, carrot cake muffin and a fruit cup of watermelon and blueberries. It was out of this world! The location was perfect, just a short walk to St. George Street and a couple of trolley stops. They also had onsite parking which I have found out is rare for the area. I could go on and on about how wonderful this B&B is, but I guess I should save some things for you to experience on your own. You will not be disappointed staying here. It is quite obvious that the owners, MichaelE and Julio love what they do and are genuinely happy to make your stay as perfect as possible. I have never met such nicer people. I am already looking forward to going back and I think I will make it my mission to stay in every one of their 13 rooms!
