Beaches stretch from the north end of the city to the south end and beach vacations are just one of the many different types of getaways that visitors plan. A day or week at the beach offers plenty of fun St. Augustine Things to Do including sunbathing, beach volleyball, sand walking, swimming, surfing and fishing. Each beach has its own unique atmosphere and restrictions. For instance, Anastasia Island State Park is a splendid beach where no cars are allowed on the beach, but St. Augustine Beach FL does allow cars on the beach in designated areas. No alcohol or glass is allowed on the St. Augustine Beaches, pets must be kept on a leash and personal watercraft should be launched from designated boat ramps nearby, not directly from the beach.

Do you have a disability that requires the use of a wheelchair for mobility? Everyone can enjoy the St. Augustine Beaches! St. Johns County has three special designed wheelchairs available that were created to roll well on the sand for those with disabilities. You just need to call the St Johns County Beach Services Department at 904-209-0752 to request that one of the three chairs is available during your visit. They are first come, first serve and they can be delivered to any beach in St Johns County or you can pick it up at 901 Pope Road.
