The Authentic Old Jail

The Authentic Old Jail
Built by Henry Flagler in 1891 this historic jail served the city of St. Augustine. After building his famous Ponce de Leon Hotel, Flagler wanted a safe place for his guest to roam, so he built the old jail to lock up the criminals of St. Augustine. The Old Jail features maximum security cells where only the most dangerous criminals were kept.
This jail features tons of unique history, artifacts, weapons and historical characters.
The Old Jail is located at Old Town, along with the Old Town Trolley main station, The Oldest Store Museum, The St. Augustine History Museum, and a gift shop. The Old Jail is open all year except on Christmas Day.
