Choosing Between the Rooms

Fourteen rooms is a lot to pick from, and they're not all the same kind of stay. Here's how we usually help guests narrow it down.

If you want the historic feel front and center, look at Sapphire or Garnet — original character, less modernization, the inn at its most 1883. If you want the most calm and the most space, look at the cottage rooms (Silver, Gold, Diamond Suite) — they sit in a separate building behind the main house, with their own quiet. If you want something more polished, the premium rooms (Amethyst, Emerald, Gold, Diamond) include air-jet tubs and more generous baths.

If price matters most, Peridot and Ruby are the inn's economy options — small, simple, well-located on the first floor. They're a sensible pick for a one- or two-night stay where the room is mostly for sleeping.

Mobility is worth thinking about up front. Sapphire's clawfoot tub has a step that some guests find tricky; if that's a concern, look at the rooms with walk-in showers (Tourmaline, Topaz, Aquamarine, Platinum, Tanzanite, Ruby).

When in doubt, write us. We've matched a lot of stays to a lot of guests and we're usually able to suggest the right room based on what you're hoping to get out of the trip.
