Butterfield Garage Art Gallery

Butterfield Garage

Butterfield Garage Art Gallery is the brainchild of artist Jan Miller. Open since February of 1999, Jan's vision was to create an artist-run gallery for professional artists that would encourage creative experimentation. Jan and Max Miller purchased the 1927 building whose first use was a parking garage and "showplace" for cars. On the second floor they discovered the original neon sign which appealed to Jan and it became the gallery's name.
As the gallery established its reputation for showcasing the areas most distinguished professional artists, years of success followed and it remains to be one of the few local galleries where the public can interact with the artists. The Butterfield Garage Art Gallery mission is to be a leader in the presentation of traditional and contemporary visual arts in Northeast Florida, and to encourage the experience of direct accessibility and dialogue between artists and their customers.

What Guests Say about Butterfield Garage

Masters of their trade

Long time standing in the St Augustine arts community.  High caliber of multi media‘s Artists original works. Masters of their trade, kind and knowledgeable assistance while conversation runs a gambit of local to international back rounds.

St. Augustine's Best Gallery!!
The Butterfield Garage Art Gallery has original art in various mediums and is the heart of the local art scene! They have about twenty artists' works on display along with a featured artist monthly and it is in a spacious setting. I purchased a painting and photograph there and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Very impressed, I tell everyone about this Gallery! It is always packed at First Friday Art Walk and many of the artists are there in person.

Special things
Saw a man propose to his girlfriend really a special event. Love how this place works casual and classical space. So many local famous artist from St. Augustine FL. And a few from near by. I love going there. Can get there on the trolley if you get off at the chocolate factory stop. Just next door.
Beautiful gallery
My husband I took friends & family there while visiting St Augustine. The gallery has beautiful art in various media. Something for everyone! Highly recommend & will definitely be back.

Varied Selection of Art
I went to this place a couple of years ago during a crowded art walk. In 2018, I decided to see it again and was very impressed. I went during a time it was not so busy. I was amazed by how this art gallery evolved through the years. Art was impressive and varied. I saw baskets weaved of pine needles, jewelry, beautifully crafted pens, and acrylic ocean paintings.

Neat little art shop!
A good variety of original art by several artists. The gallery was fun to peruse and the art was really fun to view!
